ALAS’s presence was unforgettable in the 2022 Pumpkin Festival! This was the first time the Half Moon Bay annual Pumpkin Festival was in full swing since Covid began. ALAS stole the show with the beautiful and vibrant float that made its way through main street. The various programs within ALAS were spotlighted in the parade. The Tonantzin folklorico group danced their way through the parade receiving cheers from the crowd while Mariachi Media Luna led the parade singing beautiful songs.

A new program, Corazones de Oro was spotlighted with the senior members of the ALAS community. Their smiles were seen from miles away as they proudly walked through the parade celebrating and representing ALAS.

To accompany the festive parade, ALAS continued to be present and had two booths at the Pumpkin Festival. The Sueños Center was open selling papel picado, handmade bags, flower crowns and much more. Various artists showcased their beautiful art within the Sueños Center drawing a lot of attention from those at the festival. At the yellow house, Gilbert Arriaga and Pumpkin Orazabal worked days preparing and selling Texas brisket for the fundraiser to benefit the ALAS programs. They put lots of hard work into their food and made a great impression on the Half Moon Bay community. We can’t wait to have another successful pumpkin festival next year!
