With this program, students from Notre Dame de Namur, University of San Francisco or Cañada College provide tutoring and mentorship to our youth. ALAS believes that this program creates a pipeline to higher education by connecting them to different institutions and inspiring dreams for pursuing further education.

Graduate students from the University of San Francisco provide help and support to children living on farms who are learning how to read. This summer program is sponsored by the University of San Francisco and led by professors and social advocates.

Through mentorship and holding workshops in collaboration with Cañada College and other institutions, we help our youth make their way to higher education. We also sponsor a Youth Leadership Group, as we believe that empowering our youth is key to guarantee our community’s future.

To support high school juniors and seniors with college applications, we offer guidance and workshops in partnership with local universities and various institutions. Our aim is to help students navigate the path to higher education, making the college application process smoother and more accessible.

ALAS offers internships to students as an opportunity for them to learn new skills and give back to their community. We also understand it as a way to help build the character of our community’s future leaders. Please email us for any available internship opportunities.

ALAS believes that a strong education system is indispensable for having future leaders, engaged citizens, and a united San Mateo Coastline community. That is why, in partnership with the Cabrillo Unified School District, we advocate to make a change and help our youth flourish and reach their dreams.
