Details:
In celebration of Mother’s Day and in recognition of the vital role of farmworkers in our communities, the Santa Cruz Warriors, ALAS (Ayudando Latinos A Soñar), and Modelo are proud to host a heartfelt appreciation event honoring the strength, dedication, and resilience of women in the agricultural workforce.
This meaningful event — now in its second year — brings together community leaders along the Central Coast to celebrate mothers, grandmothers, and wives of farmworkers, many of whom balance the demands of agricultural labor with caring for their families.
The celebration includes:
A private gathering at ALAS headquarters (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM) with heartfelt tributes, gift-giving, and community connection.
A visit to Cal Coast Orchids (12:10 PM – 12:45 PM), where Warriors and Modelo representatives will share lunch and appreciation with local farmworkers.
ALAS, named California Nonprofit of the Year in 2023, provides critical support for the Latino coastal community through food distribution, immigration services, educational programs, and culturally rooted mental health care. The partnership between the Warriors, Modelo, and ALAS also includes past events such as “Los Warriors Night” in January 2025, where the Santa Cruz Warriors celebrated Latino heritage at their home game against the Mexico City Capitanes. The night also included a charitable jersey auction for all game-worn “Los Warriors” jerseys, with 100% of the proceeds donated directly to ALAS.
Media members are invited to attend. Please RSVP to Victoria Sanchez De Alba at 650-270-7810 / victoria@dealba.net or to Andrew Winfield at 831-535-7069/ awinfield@warriors.com.
